South Delhi civic body to enable adoption of schools by private parties

With an aim to improve quality of education in municipal schools, the South Delhi Municipal Corporation is all set to launch a school adoption scheme. Under this scheme, NGOs, corporate firms, private schools etc will adopt municipal schools and manage its functioning. Officials say, a lot of groups have already started expressing their interest in this scheme which is likely to be implemented from next session.

No takers for over 37,000 RTE seats

For this academic year (2013-14), Karnataka set aside 1,08,344 seats for the 25% quota under the Right to Education (RTE) Act. But, at the end of the admission season, there are no takers for over 37,000 seats (34%) of these seats.
